Don't get me wrong I am not saying that everyone can be a successful automobile salesperson, but some of the people that make very good money in car sales are the last people you would expect to succeed in the auto sales field.

The field of car sales has changed over the last several years and many of the dealerships have realized that the stereotypical sales person of the past is not what they are looking for today. They want good hard working people that are unfamiliar with the tactics of the past because the consumer is smarter today. They don't want slick, fast talking and sneaky people, they want fresh people without the bad habits that the salesman of the past uses when selling automobiles. A new salesman will be trained and mentored to the new style of selling which is more of a consultative approach rather than the high pressure tactics of the past. So experience is not a roadblock when it some to getting a job selling cars. No college degree is required and the earning potential is practically unlimited. There are several people who believe that teenagers need to focus on their school work instead of getting a job. Perhaps you are one of those selected people whose parents refused to allow you to work until you became 18. Many parents feel that making good grades as well as enjoying the teenage years is very important. There are far too many teenagers that are excessively spoiled in today's world, and by getting a job, they will learn to appreciate what they have.
In order to become an adult, one must go through a process. Contrary to what many teenagers believe, you do not automatically become an adult as soon as you turn 18. The process of becoming an adult should start far before the child turns 18. Another fine example of why you should work as a teen is because you will develop an understanding as to why a college education is important. Getting a job as a teenager may very well make them responsible as well as motivated.
Recession and families spending less money is an excellent reason for a teenager to get a job. Parents are not always able to afford the extra spending money that a teenager desires. You are also able to save up for a nice vehicle, and then a college education. A teen should make their own money in order to buy the popular items that they desire. With less cash in general, a teenager's pocket of unearned money is one of the primary places hit.
A job for a teenager is a wonderful idea to help them learn the true value of a dollar. On the other hand, it is vital that a teenagers extra cash and spending habits should be monitored. The teen will have a better understanding about how important it is to work hard to achieve the things you desire. Saving money will also be another important lesson learned. Finally, if the family is not in the proper economic situation to buy the teen everything they want, they will understand why. They will have the freedom to obtain all the things they desire.

4. DO NOT WAIT FOR THEM TO CALL YOU, FOLLOW UP:
This is another reason many people struggle to get employed. They submit an application, and then proceed to just sit around waiting for a call that never comes. Sometimes employers forget to call, or they hire someone else because they called first. Always call or walk into the place of business after you submit your application, and ask to follow up on it (even if the end of the application tells you that you will be contacted if you qualify for the position). Make sure while doing this, you remember rule number 2: Know the right times to take action. Always keep in mind however that this does not work every single time. Some employers may tell you to wait for a call, others may schedule you for an orientation right then and there. You will never know unless you follow up.

5. ALWAYS DRESS UP:
One way to stand out from everyone who is too lazy to dress up, is to dress up. A suit and tie will more than likely make employers feel like you deserve the job over someone who is wearing casual clothes. Even if you are just walking in to submit an application, wear your suit and tie. You never know who will be watching, and many times you can get surprised by the hiring manager asking you when you can start.
